Here at PuppyCreek we breed the Dogue de Bordeaux/French Mastiff.If you're looking for a large, exceptional quality AKC registered puppy with an excellent pedigree you have come to the right place. Our mountain is very unique in that all of the major rivers in Arkansas head water up here. Our spring feeds the beginning of the War Eagle River....our closest swimming hole (just down the dirt road) is the Upper Kings River in Arkansas State Park land. The White River starts about a mile south of our home and when you drive out to the pavement you follow the beginning headwaters of the White River along the road until it turns into a big river. The Buffalo River is located just east of us and also begins up here on our Mountain! It really is a special place in the Ozarks and we do enjoy it.....Visitors are welcome to schedule a visit. We are some distance from town so you will need driving directions! Our place is over 150 acres of lovely pasture and hardwood forest. We live in a beautiful log home my husband built for us. All of us enjoy our local swimming holes, ponds and our fresh water spring. This is our little piece of paradise and the dogs take great pleasure in the freedom they enjoy with all the room they have to run and play. We take great pride in our puppies and our dogs and the individual care each one receives. Our puppies are born and raised in our home and are sold with written health guarantees. It is our effort to raise well socialized puppies who will fit comfortably into their new homes. We have been breeding since 1999. The Dogue de Bordeaux
A powerful and muscular French breed, the Dogue de Bordeaux is a molossoid (mastiff-type dog), "dogue" meaning Mastiff in French. A massive head and stocky body are trademarks of the breed. Americans became aware of the Dogue de Bordeaux when he appeared as drooling, messy "Hooch" in the 1989 Tom Hanks’ film, Turner and Hooch. The breed’s short, fine coat is fawn-colored, ranging from a dark red to a light fawn. The Dogue de Bordeaux has been used as a guardian, hunter and fighter. They were trained to bait bulls, bears, and jaguars, hunt boars, herd cattle, and protect the homes and businesses of their masters. The Dogue de Bordeaux possesses an instinct for guarding, which he does with vigilance and courage, but without aggressiveness. He is an excellent companion – affectionate and attached to his family – with a patient, calm temperament. Their short coat is easy to care for and they require moderate daily exercise.
